| Whiligh became a separate manor in the reign of Edward III. Before that it was part of the Manor of Ticehurst and of the Bibleham portion of Wadhurst then held by the family of Pashley. In 1372 (Edward I.) the "Whileigh" lands were granted by Sir Robert de Pashly to two residents of Goudhurst, one of whom in 1427 settled them on Ralph Shoyswell and his wife, the widow of Thos. Playsted. | |||||
