Reference: HO 107 1640, Rotherfield Registration District, Folios 149-159 in the Mayfield Enumeration District 2b
From Hadlow Down Church by the boundary of the Parish to the Wilderness House and then to Mots Mill and from thence to the Turnpike Road leading from Mayfield to Lewes over Mayfield Common, then by the TurnPike Road to the Cross Ways at Croust, and take all the house on the West and North West of the road and from Croust back to Hadlow Down Church taking all on the South and South West of the road.
