THOMAS COLE

Baptised in Westerham June 12th 1696. Left £5 by his grandfather John Cole in 1798. In 1713 the churchwardens paid him 5s for killing 15 hedgehogs. He apparently had a daughter Ann, baptised in Westerham on March 15th 1733, but on September 4th 1735, at the age of 39, married Ann Haywood in Penshurst, presumably his second wife. Ann Cole, wife of Thomas, died in Westerham and was buried on October 27th 1749. There is no record of Thomas Cole's death. However Thomas Coules is recorded as resident in the Manor of Westerham in 1744, 1745, 1746, 1747 and 1748.
