ELIZABETH BROWNE
Elizabeth Browne was baptized in Westerham on March 19th 1725, the daughter of William Browne of Westerham.
WILLIAM BROWNE, the father of Elizabeth Browne was the youngest son of Richard Browne of Westerham. In the will of Richard Browne (Drb 1715) :
To his eldest son Giles a farm in Billingshurst called Redfold.
His daughter Elizabeth not mentioned.
To his son Joseph £15.
To his sons Richard, Thomas and William his estate in Westerham.
To his daughters Jane and Sarah £60 each.
Richard Browne owned part of Colemans Farm and a farm called Medhurst in the southeast corner of Westerham parish (later part of Puddledock Farm). In the title of his will Medhurst was confused with Medhurst Row which is in Edenbridge.
Richard Browne, an Anabaptist, was buried at French Street burial ground, Westerham, May 31st 1714. Witness: Mary Pocknell. His unnamed wife was buried on October 29th 1702, probably in the same place. (Westerham parish register).
Very little can be said about William Browne.

1720 Nov 25th Baptism of his son William at Westerham parish church.
1729 Nov 7th Baptism of his daughter Mary at Westerham parish church.
William Browne yeoman was chosen borsholder of Westerham Upland in 1732 and constable of Westerham Hundred in 1739.
In the 1751 rental of the Manor of Westerham :
Richard, Thomas and William Browne for Great Medhurst 8s 6d and for Combe 2s (Westerham Upland).
In 1773 Francis Austen esq owned Great Medhurst and Colemans, and also Combe occupied by William Browne.
