	He married (1) Philadelphia French on 1^st Dec 1823 at St. Giles Church, Dallington, Sussex. She was born 1792; died Jun 1832 at Dallington, Sussex, aged 40 years; buried 29^th Jun 1832 at St. Thomas-à-Becket Church, Brightling, Sussex. They had the following children:
	i	Mary who was born 24^th Jan 1825 at Dallington, Sussex; christened 6^th Mar 1825 Heathfield Chapel, Heathfield, Sussex, daughter of Edward Jarvis & Philadelphia Jarvis, ceremony performed by Rev. John Press
