He was born 22^nd May 1819 at Battle, Sussex; christened 11^th Jul 1819 at St. Mary's Church, Battle, Sussex, mother Jane Hyland, baseborn; died 6^th Sep 1894 at Abergavenny Arms, Frant, Sussex, probate to Edwun Steer (son in law) licwnsed victualler.
