	1. Thomas Piper, grocer and tea dealer was the son of Richard Piper, blacksmith and Sarah Piper [Cottingham]. He was born 1817 at Buxted, Sussex; christened 6^th Apr 1817 at St. Margaret's Church, Buxted, Sussex
	He married (1) Hannah Hall on 26^th Dec 1840 at St Bartholomew Parish Church, Maresfield, Sussex. She was born 1816 at Mayfield, Sussex. They had the following children:

	ii	Harriett who was born 1845 at Maresfield, Sussex
	iii	Sarah who was born 1847 at Maresfield, Sussex

	He married (2) Maria Warner on Jan to Mar 1861, registered at Uckfield District, Sussex, ref: 1861 Q1 Vol 2b Page 121. She was born 1823 at Maresfield, Sussex. They had the following children:

	2. Alfred Piper, gardener was the son of Thomas Piper, grocer and tea dealer and Hannah Piper [Hall]. He was born 1850 at Maresfield, Sussex
	He married Wilhemina Livingstone on Apr to June 1878, registered at Greenwich District, Kent, ref: 1878 Q2 Vol 1d Page 1157. She was born 1851 at Scotland. They had the following children:
