	3. John Stapley, farmer was the son of Thomas Simson Stapley, labourer and Caroline Stapley [Saunter]. He was born 1838 at Penshurst, Kent; christened 28^th Oct 1838 at St. John the Baptist Church, Penshurst, Kent
	He married Frances Wiskers on 18^th Dec 1871 at Holy Trinity, Clapham, London. She was born 1840 at Speldhurst, Kent. They had the following children:
