	He married Elizabeth Wickenden on 25^th Dec 1856 at St. Denys Church, Rotherfield, Sussex, witnesses Henry Fairbrother & Jane Wickenden. She was born 1836 at Mead, Rotherfield, Sussex; christened 8^th May 1836 at St. Denys Church, Rotherfield, Sussex, daughter of William Wickenden (farmer) and Mary Wickenden. They had the following children:
	i	Mary Jane who was born 1858 at Rotherfield, Sussex; christened 10^th Jan 1858 St. Denys Church, Rotherfield, Sussex; buried 25^th Dec 1859 Rotherfield, Sussex, aged 2 years

	2. Fanny Bartholomew [Fairbrother] was the daughter of George Fairbrother, grocer and Elizabeth Fairbrother [Wickenden]. She was born 6^th Aug 1861 at Rotherfield, Sussex
	She married Charles Thomas Bartholomew on Oct to Dec 1893 at Sevenoaks, Kent, registered at Sevenoaks District, Kent, ref: 1893 Q4 Vol 2A Page 1164. He was born 1859 at Etchingham, Sussex
