  He married (1) Sophia Knight on 12th Feb 1837 at St. Denys Church, Rotherfield, Sussex, witnesses: John Dadswell and Eliza King. She was born 1819 at Rotherfield, Sussex; died Feb 1853 at Rotherfield, Sussex, aged 33 years; buried 7th Feb 1853 at St. Denys Church, Rotherfield, Sussex
  He married (2) Emma Dadswell on c 1860. She was the daughter of William Dadswell and Sophia Dadswell [Furner]. She was born 23rd Dec 1829 at Rotherfield, Sussex; christened 11th Mar 1830 at Wesleyan Chapel, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, daughter of William Dadswell (labourer) and Sophia (daughter of Francis and Mary Furner) Dadswell; ceremony performed by James Male. They had the following children:
