The church of St. Michael and All Angels has chancel and nave (the former is one of the few chancels in England which are termed twisted chancels), and square embattled tower containing 6 bells: the church has been beautifully restored by Sir G. G. Scott, at the cost of the patron of the living: there is a very handsome carved oak pulpit and open oak sittings, nine stained glass windows (east and west). The register dates from the year 1540. The living is a rectory, yearly value £350, with residence and 23 acres of glebe land, in the gift of Francis Barchard, esq.., and held by the Rev. Augustus William Warde, M.A., of Christ Church, Oxford. | |||||

The church of St. Michael and All Angels consists of chancel and nave and an embattled tower containing 6 bells : the church was beautifully restored by the late Sir G. G. Scott B.A. at the cost of the patron : there is a carved oak pulpit and eight stained windows: the chancel is "twisted," deviating considerÂably from its proper axis. The register dates from the year 1540. The living is a rectory, gross yearly value £445, with residence and 23 acres of glebe, in the gift of Francis BarÂchard esq. and held since 1856 by the Rev.
