Ladymeads - 80 acres. The house with its plain brick front and ponderous tiled roof is of two periods: the back much older than the front. It was owned in old days by the family of Jeffery of Yalding in Kent, and was in their hands between 1700 and 1730. … In 1786 it was held by John Jeffery: and a little later was sold by trustees, one of them a Jeffery. It is now in the Bayham Estate.
