1861 Rotherfield Census (including Crowborough)
Reference RG9/574: Rotherfield Enumeration District No 3
Part of the Parish of Rotherfield commencing at the Boarshead Inn taking all the Houses on the right of the Road leading to Tunbridge Wells including Hamsell, Copyhold and Brownings Farms to the Crown turning then keeping the boundary of the Parish to Knapp Wood and then keep the Road to Saxonbury Hill and Danegate Farms continuing the Road past Green Hedges to Spratts Bottom and Cowford Bridge including Blackthorn Hill and Mrs Rawlins's keeping the Rotherfield Road about eight Rods over the Bridge then turn to the right at the bottom of Hornshurst Wood to Turks taking Rudgate Mill and New House over Johnsons Bridge along the bottom of Lime Kiln Forest taking Testers and the Earls Cottage to the Boarshead Inn.
Part of this District is within the Holy Trinity Ecclesiastical District.
