Tasker, John. 73. Parkhouse, Copthorne. When a child my Father used Shawhurst for a short time. We had litter there always and turned out. Father kept a team and carried some litter and a great deal of turf for those who did not keep teams.

(Note. This old man is pretty nearly worn out and should only be resorted to in case we require to complete a link. His principal refrain is "Everybody always had litter and turf as long as I can remember".)

The Weald is at  Database version 14.05 which has ongoing updates to the 395,000 people; 9,000 places; 613 maps; 3,308 pictures, engravings and photographs; and 248 books loaded in the previous version
