Wood, Robert. Tenant of Hendall Farm. This farm consists of 230 acres. I took it at Michaelmas 1872. I cut litter on the Forest of Ashdown in or about 1875. That was the only occasion because I have plenty of straw and litter on the farm and find it does [not] answer my purpose to use Forest litter. I have never turned out. I have had nothing else from the Forest except stone for the road. I paid for the digging. I succeeded to the farm after Mr. Henry Gardner who occupied it 19 years. He now lives at Church Farm, West Ferring, Sussex.
