Crowborough War Memorial Roll of Honour - Booker H. Private
Hercules Booker (1879-1915) - Private G/962, 6th Battalion, Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment). Seriously wounded on the front-line and brought back to a Field Hospital were he died on 9th October 1915. Aged 35. Born Buxted, Uckfield 1879, enlisted Tunbridge Wells 3rd September 1914. Son of William Booker and Hannah Booker (nee Wood); brother of Benjamin and Joseph (see below). His younger brother Benjamin Booker also enlisted that day, but Benjamin survived the war. Unmarried. Buried in Sailly-Labourse Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. Plot/Row/Section M. Grave 9
