St John's Church (which was erected bt the De La Warr family) was consecrated in the year 1839. It is an exact copy of the church built by John Henry Newman at Littlemore, near Oxford. Until 1872 the services were performed by a resident curate, and during this time a parsonage, school, and schoolmaster's house were built. | |||||
