At HAWKENBURY, a hamlet in the Kentish portion, is a School Church, where divine service is performed on Sunday. An undenominational chapel was erected in 1874. The charities are £26 6s. 7d. arising from a bequest of £5 yearly, by Thomas Weller in 1667 which is distributed in bread, and one of £21 6s. 7d. left by Henry Smith, of Wandsworth, and Alderman of London, in 1628.
