1841 Mayfield Census
Reference: Rotherfield Enumeration District 11
From Butchers Cross Gate by the Turnpike road to the New Church on Hadlow Down taking all on the North and North East side of the road from thence by the Boundary of the Parish at the Little Forge and then follow the Boundary to Brick Barn Hill and from there to Stone Mill taking all the houses on the road leading from Huggots Furnace Mill to Butchers Cross Gate.
